WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTOX AND XEOMIN?

WHAT IS XEOMIN AND BOTOX?

Botox and Xeomin are both injectable treatments for promoting rejuvenated, younger looking skin. These two injectables are most commonly used for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox and Xeomin are both neuromodulators that contains a neurotoxin that contains a bacterial species called clostridium botulinum. The neuromodulators prevent a chemical reaction so that nerves can’t communicate with muscles. Since this communication in blocked, the muscle can’t flex, or perform the basic actions such as raising the eyebrows. If the muscle can’t flex, then it can’t make a wrinkle.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BOTOX AND XEOMIN?

The biggest difference between Botox and Xeomin is that Xeomin contains only one ingredient called botulinum toxin A. Xeomin is known as the “naked” injectable because it doesn’t contain any additional additives. In other words, it’s one of the purest neuromodulators. One of the benefits of Xeomin being a pure neuromodulator is that the human body is less likely to become resistant to it.

Botox, on the other hand, contains accessory proteins such as, Clostridium botulinum type A neurotoxin complex, 0.5 milligrams of Albumin (Human), and 0.9 milligrams of sodium chloride in a sterile, vacuum-dried form without a preservative. Due to all the added proteins, Botox needs to be kept refrigerated as opposed to Xeomin which doesn’t require refrigeration.

IS BOTOX OR XEOMIN MORE EFFECTIVE?

Both Xeomin and Botox are effective treatments. They are both great for reducing fine lines and wrinkles and for leaving the skin smooth and rejuvenated!

Both Xeomin and Botox start working as soon as soon as they’re injected into the muscle. However, their full effect may not be seen until seven to fourteen days after injection.

A double-blind study tested Xemoin, Botox, and another neuromodulator, Dysport, to see which was more effective. According to the study, Xeomin was found to work faster and last longer than Botox and Dysport.
