WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
Laser hair removal is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared procedure for hair removal. The laser used emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. Once the laser finds the hair follicle, it turns the light energy into heat which kills the hair root. The trauma done delays future hair growth.
IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?
Here at VIP Laser, we have the most advanced and effective laser hair removal technology. With that being said, everyone is different. Permanent hair removal is possible for many people, but not for everyone. It really depends on the color of your hair, how thick your hair is, how many sessions you do, the length of time in between sessions, and whether or not you have a hormonal imbalance.
ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
Laser hair removal works by targeting pigment. Laser technology has been improved to work on any skin type and hair type. However, in order for laser hair removal to work effectively, it needs to be done on dark pigmented hair. Laser hair removal works on black, brown, and dark red hair because the laser can easily detect it and zap it away. Unfortunately, the laser will be ineffective if you have blonde, grey, or light-colored hairs on the areas you want hair reduction.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED TO HAVE PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION?
Everyone’s hair is different, which is why there is no set number of sessions for everyone. Generally, it takes about 8-14 sessions to be permanently hair-free, but as mentioned, it all depends on how thick your hair is!
The area in which you do laser hair removal also plays a role in the number of sessions needed. Smaller areas with thinner hair will generally take less sessions. Larger areas with coarse hair will take longer to achieve permanent hair removal.
HOW LONG SHOULD YOU WAIT IN BETWEEN TREATMENTS?
You’re probably asking yourself, “why are multiple sessions needed?” Multiple sessions are needed because there are different stages of hair growth. For laser hair removal to effectively work and kill the hair follicle, it needs to be in the growth stage and since your hairs are never in the same stage of hair growth, multiple sessions are required.
We recommend doing your laser hair removal session every four to six weeks to achieve maximum results.
