10 Benefits about Laser Hair Removal
1• Treatments are Quick
Don’t expect to spend all day in the spa when having laser hair removal done, you’ll be in and out in no time. Laser hair removal treatments are much quicker than you may expect. It takes around 5 minutes to perform treatment on underarms, 10 minutes the bikini area and only about 15 to 20 minutes for areas like full arms and full legs.
2• Eliminate Ingrown Hairs
It is the best solution to make sure you don’t suffer from a pesky ingrown hair and risk having to have it removed. Laser hair removal is also a great option for people who have sensitive skin and have skin irritation after shaving or waxing, and absolutely Laser Hair Removal is the best option to eliminate ingrown hairs.
3• You’ll Save Money in the Long Run
The cost of having laser hair removal done has decreased while the cost of waxing has increased. Laser hair removal is financially smarter, takes less time and will give you an overall longer lasting result. When you get laser hair removal treatments done, you eliminate the need for endless amounts of razors, shaving creams, waxing appointments, etc.
4• You Don’t Need to Grow Hair Between Treatments
Unlike with waxing, you can shave in between your treatments. You no longer have to wait to grow your hair out because with laser hair removal you can shave as much as you want in between sessions.
Laser hair removal specifically targets hairs right down at the follicle. The precision also means you should get results sooner.
Most patients can achieve permanent hair loss within 6 and 12 sessions, so laser hair removal is very successful. In order for the laser to be effective is so important to receive laser hair removal in a series of consecutive treatments, every 4 to 6 weeks.
7• Minimal discomfort
The initial sessions might fell a little uncomfortable (it has been compared to the ping of an elastic band), but the feeling diminishes with each session, and aloe vera gel may be applied after laser treatment to reduce any discomfort.
8• Rejuvenate Your Skin
While everyone knows that laser hair removal removes unwanted hair from parts of the body, did you know that laser energy can actually improve the texture and appearance of your skin? Yes! and it’s because deep down in the dermis, the laser heats up the lower layers of your skin tissue which can stimulate collagen production and that’s why laser hair removal can help improve the quality of your skin.
Getting zapped with a laser might seem hazardous, but laser hair removal is actually one of the safest methods of hair removal because it is carried out by a trained technician in most cases. There is also no chance of cutting yourself or getting an allergic reaction to nasty chemicals.
10• The results last for a long time
Unlike other forms of hair removal like shaving and waxing where it takes days or weeks before the hair grows back, hair effectively removed by laser won’t grow back for several months or years. If/when it does grow back, the hair is finer (less coarse), lighter, and not as visible as it was before. In some cases, the hair is permanently gone and never grows back.

COMMON QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS:
How do I prepare for my appointment? On the day of your treatment, wear clothing that will allow easy access to the area being treated. You will also want to shave the treatment area 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Are there any possible complications? There is a low risk of pigmentary changes in the skin. Please be sure to discuss any concerns with our Medical Director or Laser Specialist prior to your treatment. They can outline all possible complications and ensure that you have a worry-free treatment.
What should I expect after treatment? Generally, some redness will remain for approximately seven to ten days longer for some patients and shorter for others. Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however, this should subside within a few hours. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs, you should consult with our Laser Specialist or Medical Director. Following laser hair removal, you will need to keep the area clean and use a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 when outdoors.
Can pseudofolliculitis (ingrown hairs) be treated? Yes. Pseudofolliculitis is a type of chronic acne disorder caused by ingrown coarse or curly hairs, which often affects darker skin types. Laser is the preferred method of treatment for this disorder.
Is treatment permanent? Typically, each laser treatment results in some permanent hair loss and most cases require several treatments. The number of treatments will depend on your response to laser therapy and the amount of hair to be removed. As with other treatments for unwanted hair, there is no guarantee that laser hair removal treatment will be permanent; future touch up sessions may be required each year.
Does treatment hurt? Each patient has his or her own level of skin sensitivity and pain threshold. Different areas on the body are also more sensitive than others.
How many treatments will I need? Typically, laser hair removal requires six to twelve treatments done at four to eight week intervals. There are three phases of hair growth: anagen, catagen and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase, "anagen", can be successfully treated.
