When people think of acne, they normally think of a person with red and swollen blemishes, but believe it or not, and there is a lot more to acne than just pimples. There are a variety of acne types that may surprise you!
ACNE TYPE I
Acne type one is one of the most common types of acne. This acne type includes non-inflammatory acne lesions such as whiteheads and blackheads. It also includes very few papules and pustules.
Whiteheads are known as closed comedones. They are small, white little bumps or spots.
Blackheads are known as open comedones. These are black spots or bumps that have been exposed to air, making them darken.
ACNE TYPE II
Acne type two includes multiple papules and pustules. This acne type is inflammatory and is more likely to cause scarring.
Papules are the bumps found under the skin’s surface. These bumps are solid, red or pink, and slightly swollen.
Pustules are known as pimples. These are larger, tender bumps with whitish or yellowish pus in the center of them.
ACNE TYPE III
Acne type three is also known as acne vulgaris. This acne type includes comedones, papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts. With this acne type, there is a lot of inflammation involved.
Nodules are hard and painful inflamed lumps. These are larger than papules but have no center.
Cysts are also very large and painful. They have res and white lumps that are filled with pus.
ACNE TYPE IIII
The worst type of acne is acne type four. This acne is known as nodulocystic acne. This acne is very severe and can be found on the face, chest, and back.
This acne includes multiple nodules and cysts. This type of acne can cause hypertrophic and atrophic scarring.
Although acne is annoying and horrible, there are ways that it can be cured and avoided.
The things we do daily, such as eating, play a huge role in how our skin reacts. One’s skincare routine also plays a role.
To prevent acne, one should wash their face with a non-abrasive cleanser in the morning and in the evening. You should also use alcohol-free products!
