When you first arrive for your BeautiFill procedure, your doctor will mark the areas where fat will be removed and where fat will be transferred. This is done in order to guide the doctor during the treatment. Once the surgeon is ready, you will be injected with local anesthesia in order to numb the areas where fat will be removed and restored. The anesthesia not only numbs the area, but it also minimizes bleeding and makes it easier for the fat to be removed.
Once the areas are fully numbed, the doctor will begin by making a small incision on the area where the fat will be removed. Next, the doctor will take the cannula and input it into the incision made. The cannula on the BeautiFill machine has a laser that glows bright red.
